Sunday School Classes:
You want a Sunday School Class?
Boy have we got you covered there – we’ve got a veritable
smorgasbord of classes going on…come and find the right one
for you. Classes
start at 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning!
Sunday School is flourishing at Hope United Methodist Church! We
have classes with varying emphases for adults.
- Two of these groups use The International Sunday School Lessons literature,
which is a classic Bible Study. These classes have the goal
of completing a study of the entire Bible over the span of several
years.
- Another one of the classes often takes a look at some of the
theological aspects of the Bible and even parts not included in
our present canon.
- The fourth class changes courses frequently, and has covered
a variety of studies: some on the lesser-known
people of the Bible, some on a specific book of interest, and some
on what we can do to put our Christianity into motion to help
others in the world today.
- The exciting and fastest-growing of the adult classes is led
by our pastor and is especially customized for the younger adults
as they deal with raising their families.
Children’s Sunday School:
We love
our kids – they keep us in step with
all the new fashion crazes. We return the favor by teaching
them how awesome God is.
Sunday School provides an opportunity
for our children and youth to receive age-appropriate interpretations
of the stories and lessons of the Bible. In our classes, an
emphasis is placed on how each lesson translates to present-day
situations that the children can relate to. Students
are encouraged to ask questions and to supplement the lesson with
examples from their own lives.
Classes for our children and youth:
Are taught
by a team of experienced, caring volunteers. Each class is consistently
taught by the same person. In addition to allowing the teachers
to become thoroughly familiar with the abilities, needs, and interests
of each student, this consistency ensures a maximum level of comfort
for the students and provides continuity in the lesson sequencing.
Sunday School classes are separated into the following age
groups:
- Toddlers – three
years old
- Grades
Kindergarten to grade 4
- Grades
5-7
- Grades
8-12
