Every church has a history, we’re no different. However,
we have a very long history – being part of the United Methodist
extended family, and as a new church in the community.
We have a miraculous story! In October 2005 Faith United Methodist
Church at 9 Baltimore Street in downtown Middletown and Hunter Community
United Methodist Church at 3642 Shaker Road in Franklin Township
decided to partner in ministry. We operated from two campuses
for a while, but as time passed it became clear that we should merge
into one body.
Wonderful things happened at breathtaking speed, and we had
no doubt that God was moving all of us forward into a new adventure,
transplanting the Faith Church roots into the Hunter soil. The
two churches officially merged on Sunday March 5, 2006, becoming
Hope United Methodist Church.
God is richly blessing us with the opportunity
to begin afresh, to “write a new history.” Our desire is to share
this blessing with the surrounding communities of Hunter, Franklin,
and Middletown. We are moving forward and our dream is for
many others to join us on the journey.
